AJC est le réseau national de référence pour le jazz et les musiques improvisées en France.

Fondé en 1993 sous le nom de AFIJMA (Association des festivals innovants en jazz et musiques actuelles), le réseau s’est d’abord constitué autour de festivals pionniers souhaitant mutualiser leurs forces pour défendre une vision exigeante et créative du jazz.

En 2013, l’association devient AJC, affirmant son rôle élargi de réseau professionnel fédérant une large partie des structures de diffusion du jazz et des musiques improvisées se retrouvant dans ces valeurs.
